The very first ‘proper’ B&B of the whole NZ tour; again I booked this on-line back in September ’05. Located just outside the rural township of Te Kuitu, which claims to be the sheep-shearing capital of the world – well, some where’s gotta be! Up a steep escarpment to mine hosts – Margaret and Graham, who could not have been more hospitable and obliging. It really did feel just like ‘home from home’. All this for just 100 Kiwi dollars (about 40 quid) – “all-in”, including a splendid breakfast. The view from the front of their house was worth the price alone.
